WATER SOFIA 2011
The 5th International Exhibition Water Sofia 2011 was held between 13th and 15th of April 2011 in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria. DHI participated for the fourth consecutive time at the exhibition, presenting its latest catalogue of available software products and a new 2011 version of MIKE by DHI software.

During the Exhibition the 4th International Conference BULAQUA 2011 was held on 13th and 14th April . DHI participated in the conference with three presentations:
- Stormwater Management under the Climate Change Conditions - Tomas Metelka, Ventzi Bojkov;
- EU Flood Directive – Actual experience from implementation process in Czech Republic - Tomas Metelka, Marek Mata,
- Development of modernization plan for Kapuściska WWTP, Bydgoszcz, Poland - Jan Kwiatkovski,
During the Exhibition, on 14th April in Rodopi hall of the International Expo Center, the Clients´ day of DHI users was organised. Tomas Metelka presented news in MIKE by DHI software products related to the urban water and Marek Mata presented FLOOD ToolBox, the newest tool dedicated to assist in implementation of the Flood Directive. He also performed a demonstration showing the use of the tool for preliminary flood risk assessment in the Struma River Basin using data provided by the West Aegean River Basin Directorate at Blagoevgrad. During the seminar the Bulgarian Water Utilities received software updates of MIKE URBAN with a valid software maintenance agreement. At the end of the exhibition there was arranged a lottery for participants giving them a chance to obtain two-month full DHI license of selected software products and a bottle of red wine.
The winners were:
- eng. Velichka Dimkova from ViK Blagoevgrad who provided her prize to colleagues from the River Basin Directorate at Blagoevgrad;
- Asoc. Prof. Vanya Joncheva from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIMH – BAS), department “”Water Management”;
- eng. Georgi Yanev from the Black Sea River Basin Directorate.
The seminar was closed with small refreshment attended by participating colleagues from Basin Directorates, Water Utilities, NIMH and UACEG.
